One of the many shelters created by the German occupation forces in Crete is located in the village of Platanias in Chania, under the Church of Agios Dimitrios. The shelter has been cleaned and tidied up and now functions as a museum. Visitors have the opportunity not only to explore its structure and the layout of its rooms, galleries and tunnels of a total length of 170 metres, but also to admire an extremely interesting collection of World War II relics. The names and symbols carved by the soldiers on the walls and the rich exhibits make up an excellent representation of the era.
