At the dawn of the 1970s, Dimitris Kalamaras created the statue of the “Dying Warrior”. It is a brass abstract sculpture, a tribute to the unknown soldier, depicting the warrior just before his death in a pose reminiscent of antiquity. Initially it was placed in Florina, the birthplace of its creator. However, it was soon moved away. At the beginning of the 21st century, it was placed on the platform of the “Ethniki Amina” subway station.
