Nike IV

In 1985, the sculptor Kyriakos Kampadakis from Drama created this statue, dedicated to the ancient goddess Nike (Victory). The sculpture was placed in the city centre of Athens. He mainly drew inspiration from the famous “Winged Victory of Samothrace”, but also the statue type of “Victory” in general, which was a favourite subject for the artist. Kampadakis created other “Victories”, hence the relative numbering. It is an outdoor expressionist brass sculpture that can be seen up close in Dikaiosinis Square (Santarosa).
