The Park of the Hellenic Army, created on the site of the old Varitis Camp, is a green space of 152 acres, which has been designed as a recreational and walking area for the general public by the General Staff of the Army. It is an oasis of greenery within the urban landscape, which is not lacking in its historical and cultural value. Within the grove, there are dozens of monuments and works of art of distinguished Greek artists. The area offers sports facilities, unlimited greenery and an organised playground, among many others, and also houses the “Alsos” Museum, which hosts an impressive exhibition of weapon systems, military vehicles, guns and aircraft.
